“Hard Bop Hanukkah"
Third Album from Jazz Violinist Ben Sutin
Available November 18, 2020
New York, NY (November 9, 2020): MEII Enterprises is proud to announce the November 18, 2020 release of “Hard Bop Hanukkah,” a live recording from jazz violinist’s Ben Sutin Quartet.
Recorded at New York City’s Rockwood Music Hall, the six-track album includes Sutin’s hard bop arrangements of “Have A Little Dreidel,” “Hanukkah, Oh, Hanukkah,” “Nerot Dolkim,” “Sevivon, Sov, Sov, Sov,” “Maoz Tzur,” and “Hanukkah, Chag Yafeh.”
Grammy-winning jazz violinist Regina Carter reacted to Sutin’s newest release by saying “Congratulations on a great project! Your performance is exceptional.”
The album “. . . reinterprets Hanukkah standards in a hi-octane modern bop style with imagination and wit,” says Steve Sandberg, three-time Emmy-nominated composer/pianist.
David Krakauer, Grammy-nominated klezmer, jazz, and classical clarinetist says: “Hard Bop Hanukkah is a great listening experience!"
The album features Ben Sutin (arrangements/leader/violin), Sam Javitch (piano), Cole Davis (bass), and Evan Sherman (drums).
