JunYi Chow
Award-winning pianist and cellist JunYi Chow plays classical repertoire and free improvisations with musicians in Kuala Lumpur, Beijing, and New York City.
Chow is the Composer-in-residence of the Vivo Experimental Orchestra from Malaysia and The TENG Company from Singapore.
Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, JunYi Chow began studying piano and music theory at the age of five. He gained admittance into Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing in 2005 where he studied with Wen Chen Qin, Gang Chen and Jian Ping Tang. After graduation in 2011, Chow began to study in the U.S. at Indiana University, Jacobs School of Music with P.Q. Phan. He completed a master’s degree in May 2013.
JunYi Chow has won many awards for music composition. His music has been performed in Malaysia, Singapore, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, United States, and Canada.

Seungmin Cha
Emerging as one of the most influential experimental daegeum (Korean transverse bamboo flute) artists, Seungmin Cha was trained in traditional music.
A graduate of the School of Music at Seoul National University, Ms. Cha has developed a well-rounded career as a solo daegeum artist, as the director of the music ensemble Shiro, and as a composer. She received a prestigious Asian Cultural Council Fellowship in 2016.
Ms. Cha performs both solo and with ensembles as part of the indie music scene of Seoul’s Hongdae neighborhood. Her performances incorporate traditional (jeongga and minyo), indie, and experimental elements.
Ms. Cha’s unique background as a traditional music performer, a contemporary composer and independent musician in the underground scene allows her to present the Gugak (Korean traditional music) in such a way that you can see its evolution.
